Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
O, Lord, may I be found faithful when I am set for trials and temptations of various kinds. May perseverance be ever developed in Thy servant. May I depend wholly on Thee, looking to Thy cross, remembering Thy atonement made on my behalf. May I mortify the flesh, by the power of Thy Spirit, casting aside the sin which so easily entangles. O, Lord, that I might remember that I have been crucified with Thee, no longer do I live for me, but only Thee. Thou, Who has purchased me at a price, by Thy blood. Keep me, O, Lord, in Thy grace. Amen.
