Jess, thanks so much for your kind gift. I have been enjoying it thoroughly. It’s not quite heavenly, but on the mornings I’m not working and my lovely daughter’s not with me, I try to make this little trip to Mickey D’s. They don’t make a breakfast version of special fried rice, do they?

Thanks for sharing those thoughts, Josh. I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the Valley of Vision, by the way. That sounds almost heaven-like… Egg McMuffin, Hash Brown, and a deep book and great Bible reading in the morning. (Though nothing is even comparable to heaven!)

We have the same (maybe even greater) problem here of “won’t” instead of “can’t” encouraged even further by our social welfare state. People flock here from all over the world knowing they can claim benefits.

But yep I got the gist of your post and agreed with it. I just wanted to be clear rather than pedantic.

While reading it I was reminded of another passage in Scriptures, the one about a pharisee and a tax collector in the Temple…
Of course the bum was probably nothing like the tax collector, but there was much of that pharisee in the other person… And it is often the case, as pride is a sin.

Deejay, as I don’t think its feasible for all people without exception to have such capabilities, nor was it the intent of my post to convey such. So, this isn’t a case of ‘all’ means ‘all’ and that’s ‘all’ all means. When I say ‘disabled’, I do mean disabled people who’re nonetheless able to take care of themselves beyond just necessities. In America, the “Land of Opportunity”, I’d say that 99.9% of the homeless population are not homeless because of “can’t” circumstances, but “won’t” circumstances. Thus, my point in posting this was to illustrate that the only thing separating me from presently being just like this bum I saw at McDonald’s was the grace of God. For I was once spiritually homeless, a beggar, stinky, etc. so on so forth yada yada yada ad nauseum

good thoughts, Josh. its easy for the Lazarus’ outside the gates to be overlooked, and often despised just because of their poverty, by those with riches.I guess the only point of minor disagreement I would make is that not ALL disabled people who theoretically would like to work are capable of work. Alot are mind, that don’t. But some are just incapable, usually if their disability is through illness rather than injury.
